For Farmers

Market Basket
The Pride of the Prairie Market Basket is comprised of farmers working to build the Pride of the Prairie as a marketing entity. For meeting notes and other pertinent information, click here.

Listserv
Our listserv, a component of Farm Beginnings, gives beginning and experienced farmers from different peer groups (i.e. vegetable, swine) an opportunity to chat, share advice and search an archive of previous conversations. To learn more, visit http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/lsp_farm_beginnings/.

Events
We want to be able to give you a heads up about events that will be featuring local foods so that you will have more opportunities to market and serve your products to the community.

Training Opportunities
Take advantage of the opportunities for further training and skill-building which are offered by Pride of the Prairie and other partner organizations. Upcoming opportunities include:

Farm Beginnings
Are you interested in starting a farm business? Or are you currently farming, but interested in changing the focus of your operation? Farm Beginnings gives you the opportunity to develop goals that reflect your values, while also connecting with and learning from some of the area’s most innovative and successful farmers, local entrepreneurs, and other beginning farmers. There are 10 class sessions, followed by an on-farm education component including farm tours and one-on-one mentoring.

The course fee covers the 34 hours of class time, on-farm education including farm tours, one-on-one mentoring, course supplies and an application for a no-interest livestock loan.

For more information or application materials contact Amy by calling (320)269-2105 or emailing: amyb@landstewardshipproject.org

Farmers Markets
